    Paul,

I've just fitted a Eagle Cuda 168 (basic but ok for features) to my P13.

I put mine on the front edge of the flat area for the small tackle box.
you can still have the box in place just.

It all depends on the finder mount and version of P13 in a way.

    Cheers

Good luck on your trip out Paul, hope you seal the holes ok.

I took a dunk on Sunday landing in surf, kayak was upside down for a while. When checked, the hull was dry inside and the finder still works ok

    Cheers,
    Chaz

I bought an chopping board and cut a couple of disks in the front cup holder to raise the level of it enough to mount the fish finder, great place and out of the way but still can play with it!!

Catch and Release fishing is a lot like a game of golf. You don't have to eat the ball to have a good time

    Hi Guys
I can elaborate on Lazy Hookers post because I bought his yak and have since modified and hopefully improved on his initial mounting.(Hi John, yak has seen some fish this year but not nearly enough due to time constraints and the bl**dy weather).
Back to the mount, I'll tell you what I did and you can work out how close you can get, I don't have any pictures but could get some next weekend if necessary. All you need to do is put a spacer into the cupholder to raise the base of the finder to a preferred height. I took some plastic bar of the correct diameter to fit the base of the cupholder and turned it to length on a lathe. I then drilled a hole all the way through the centre (again on the lathe) and finally drilled and tapped the three holes for the mounting plate. To fit to the yak I used a long M4 stainless fastener with a repair/penny washer inside the yak and a nylok nut. To provide a seal I put silicon on the base of the adaptor before putting it in place. I hope this makes sense if not let me know which bits are confusing and I will try again.

Hi, if you place the cuda where the tackle box goes you will be faced with a few probs. 1 The plastic here is thiner than the rest of the boat. 2. The unit itself is to near to where all the action is taking place eg between yor legs where all the tackle ends up, rod bait rigs etc. 3 If you do turn the yak over the unit will then be cental to where you will probably be leaning over to wright the yak and i could see you loosing the unit or breaking it.I placed mine forward over the recess just before the flat rectangle, I cut some rigid plastic then siliconed and screwed to unit to the yak. I have now doubled the plastic on the tackle box area and placed a scotty there to get the rod easier as it is to far forward when reaching if you placed it to the front of the yak.

If you place it too far forward ie the rectangular fixing point above cup holder, it's very vulnerable to damage during transportation.

You can get the fishfinder mount plate to affix to, I got mine from NZ but this stiffens the area up nicely and allows you to hide the cables directly underneath it.
