Ghost of Xmas presents ...

Hi all
If you were thinking of treating yourself to some big game gear for next year, you might consider looking now. I've just scrambled to buy a reel that my wife is going to get me for Xmas (only she doesn't know yet), because prices on imported stuff, especially from the US, are about to rocket. Annual price rises, plus the £ in freefall, aren't helping.
The reel I bought was a two-speed Avet from Rok-Max (www.rokmax.com). I have no connection with this company, other than as a customer, but they have a lot of specialist kit, the service is excellent, and Paul, the boss, knows what he's talking about. He's honouring previous prices on existing stock, but had I waited much longer the reel I wanted would have cost close to 30 per cent more. Just a heads up ... a happy Xmas can begin in September!
