    Hi all,

Has anybody got any tips (i.e. particular spots and what species are around) for fishing this particular part of Chesil? I've not tried it yet and was thinking that with the calm conditions predicited this weekend it might be worth a try for sole. Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe i would be better off at Cogden or West Bex? Sorry to keep posting questions!

    Cheers

Thats a bit of a nightmare of a beach to fish. Very snaggy in certain spots and you'll lose a tonne of lead trying to find cleaner ground. I know I haven't found a mark that doesn't take tackle. Best thing I can suggest is fish it in rougher weather very close in or float fish it in calm weather. Others on here may know more about the beach than me mind.

Thanks deano. I think i will give West Bex a try tomorrow night, i've fished Ferrybridge and Abbotsbury a lot recently so i fancy a change! Where are you heading to? Good luck yourself, though judging by your recent catch reports i don't think you need it!

just a quick post for info-

burton bradstock, reef/ broken ground under the cliff to the right , odd patches of snags infront the carpark , cleaner ground under the left cliff.
have caught bass/wrasse/ smalleyed ray/ conger /pout/ mackerel and the ever present lsd's from this venue , also saw a 5lb codling taken several years ago.

in rough weather big surf can make fishing difficult especially if theres large rafts of weed floating through.

    good luck guys,
    PB's ;-4.5 lb plaice, 31lb conger, 6.5lb bass, 7lb cod, 9.5lb thornie, 11.5lb undulate, 12.5lb smoothound,3lb blackbream all from the beach
