Charity Fishing Mark Clear Up Day

Posted a threadearly regarding rubbish being discarded at our favourite fishing spots. There have been many posts and mine is no different from what has gone before.

Im going to suggest that all of us genuine shore and rock anglers do something positive to bring this problem up a level and let the general public know that we are responsible sea anglers and that it is a minority that cause such problems.

Lets see if we can get enough interested from all corners of our beautiful country and have a national day where we all get together in the various areas and regions of Scotland on the same day and collect all the rubbish and crap that abounds our shores.

We can have sponsors and do this for a charity and get some national press coverage.

So who is with me on this?

Im with you 100% if their no going to do it someone has to.

Scotland is a beautiful country with some of the best scenery on the Planet.

having rubbish scattered all over the place is just disgusting and im not just talking about fishing marks.

Go to anywhere scenic Glencoe etc you are sure to find rubbish.

I remember a year ago or so there was a news article about the amount of rubbish on Ben Nevis of all places.

It would be beneficial not just for the environment or the tourist industry but also for the future.

Its a shame that not all people feel the same way but thats there perogative.

So that is a very good shout Mr Thornie and like Ii said am 100% behind you.

Cheers mate Im quite sure that this will gather some momentum and we can make it a success. And hopefully raise some monies for charity along the way. Once we see where we are going with numbers can then decide on areas and marks to be cleaned up

yeah im for that if i can get a day to suit as well, and if theres money going around why not have signs made up saying us genuine anglers will be watching in the future,we could take them with us fishing then put some up bit by bit or just do it en-masse,the litter louts mite think twice if other anglers band together and let them know theres a concerted effort being made to catch and report them, could even put on the signs something like erected by the scottish sea anglers alliance, you know give the effort a name and make it more official
