They are out there!
Fished off walmer beach opposite the ceasars head monument last night, between 8pm and 3pm. Caught loads of whiting and pouting, all too small, then about 2am both my rods had big strikes. Pulled in a 1lb codling but nothing more.
The ones that got away fought part of the way in then slack lined me then they were gone. Were they codling?

I fished at Kingsdown on Saturday afternoon/evening and caught a rockling and loads of tiny whiting/pouting!

Whereabouts is the caesers head monument? Fished Walmer Beach(in line with the free car park near the castle?) on 16/2/05 and found it far too weedy and had no bites on high tide. Moved to Deal Pier for the last hour of the tide and had nothing - very little caught all day there apparently.
Any advice on better beach marks for this time of year?
Many Thanks.
