Here is the Shield that the winner will be getting

The top scroll will be engraved with WSF North West Region (or whatever region the meet is held in) and the centre section will say The George Thornley Memorial Shield. All the winners need to do each year is to get their name engraved on the smaller shields with the year they won it.
This way money will be raised for charity for the next 9 years in his memory, far exceeding the original cost of the shield. Please look after it

Well, I had a pleasant surprise this morning. The trophies have already arrived.
Here are a few pics of them. Hopefully they will be raising money in Georges name for at least the next nine years, with the proceeds going to the RNLI and other charities. I would suggest that after year nine, if we can keep the meets going for that long, that the person whose name has appeared most on the trophy will get to keep it.

Each region that asked for one has their region name in this top scroll
