Rock/ Rough ground marks in the south east

Most of my fishing has been at Dungeness, Reculver, Hythe and Brighton, and these seem to be the most popular areas. I hear however of how productive rock marks can be and never seem to hear much on here of this type of fishing. Are there hardly any of these marks in Kent, are these located mainly in the south west?

What type of tactics do you need for rough ground? 30lb mono straight through with no leader in case you snag?

There are rock marks around the Thames to Thanet/Ramsgate, Kingsdown, Samphire Hoe to Folkstone and Sandgate. Tactics depends on species sought.

the problem with rock marks is they are normally quite small areas with limited low water timespan, so no one is going to give away where they fish it will get packed or netted, do what i did get an ordnance survey map of thanet to dover. it will show you all the accessable areas an try fishing them. you will meet others on the chalk ledges an learn a bit more. 30lb straight through, powerful reel an a rotton bottom lead lifts, you can use large bolts spark plugs etc for a weight because you dont cast too far. I found dawn coinciding with a low water an onshore wind to be best
