Team South East - Meet dates.
I have decided to put all the Team South East meet dates on this thread for this year. It will be added to if there are any alterations. Whilst this thread will say what meets there are and where they are taking place it wont be open for posts. But threads about upcoming matches will be started seperately when its necessary to organise things and provide a "discussion point" for general chat about the relevant meet.
Team South East is a friendly team of anglers from the South East. If you think you would like to set up a meet, first of all gauge reaction by putting up a thread on the Meets, Matches, Fish-ins forum and if it looks like people are interested it may be included as a Team SE meet.
So far these are the Team South east meets.
Members please try and get Along to the Austin Miller meet on the 28th March. Its for a very good cause and to raise money in memory of a WSF forum member and fellow anlger . See here for info - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...d.php?t=164280
Ray hunt -Sandwich Bay Saturday 25th April.
See this link for discussion on the meet - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...d.php?t=156199
Looking to be a good turn out. Ever caught a Ray from the shore? No? Well get yourself down to this meet at Sandwich bay ( a good mark for Rays). This meet is being set up by Leadbeater and Wayne72.
Fishyrobs Squid Hunt - Brighton Marina - End of April or first 2 weeks in May.
Yeah ok, not strictly a SE venue but i have had a fair few people who are interested in attending this meet. There is an entry fee (either £5-£10 i will confirm this) which will be donated to a charity of fishyrobs choice, i believe the RNLI at brighton. The entry fee will get you a Squid jig for your use on the day. Badger (TRONIX) will be there selling any spare jigs that people may need. I went to this meet last year and it was such good fun. Got my first ever Squid (about 2lb in weight). I had a cracking day and the advice from Fishyrob was second to none.
This meet is a last minute thing though. When Rob gives me the nod that the Squid are in it will probably be a weeks notice at most of what date the meet will be. This is due to the transient nature of the Squid, and to avoid missing them and people being disapointed at not getting one.
Team South East kids Meet - Sunday28th June - Fishermans beach - hythe.
See Here for more info - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...d.php?t=164595
A great idea by Captin! Lets show the next generation of anglers what fun can be had fishing. All those members who have kids pop along with the littleuns for a fun day of fishing with the Youngsters. Beware though, fishing against a kid may leave you feeling rather embarrased when they suddenly pull in a Lunker!!
Dover Breakwater - Sat 23rd May.
This can be either a day fishing meet or an all nighter. I would welcome comments on this. Minimum of 10 anglers if we want to book the Breakwater up (possibly more people if we can). Roughly £13 a head which pays for your boat trip out there and pier fees. the breakwater has toilets and even a snackshop.
I need names for this ASAP. So I will start a thread on this soon. Money first into my Paypal account . No money = no fishing trip. if you dont pay beforehand i cant put your name down as going. Also if you cant attend you forfeit your money. This is so that its fair for the others anglers coming along, who will then not have to pay more money to cover the cost of anglers not turning up.
Nice venue to fish, away from the general public and amongst other enthusiastic anglers. Weather conditions can cause this trip to be canceled at the last minute.
Samphire Hoe- Float fishing session only!!!! 27th June.
As it says in the title. A meet float fishing at Samphire hoe!! Good chance of pollack, Bass, and Wrasse. I had fun a few years back with my light spinning/float rod catching pollack and Wrasse (tough fighters on light float gear!) get yourself some floats, a fair bit of ragworm and wait for the bites to come!
Thread will go up nearer the time for names and more info.
Thats it for now but as the year goes on i expect that this thread will grow. I really want to get a session sorted out in Essex. For say a flounder match or Bass session. Essex lads...any ideas?? The essex boys (and girls..) come down to kent so its only fair that people try and get to Essex.
None of the meets above are matches, but just run of the mill friendly meets. Food..well that will have to be supplied by yourself (unless otherwise stated). But i hope to get a "scrum down" before the start of each meet so everyone can introduce each other or meet up. But if you diont fancy that then just try and meet people as you fish!
Any ideas, concerns, questions or general moans (not too much moaning though!) to me by PM please.
Thanks for taking time to read through this thread.
Whop.
