Few questions, what kind of bait should i be using late may, and what species should i expect?

    Cheers peeps

    Hi Jimbo
There are a few smooth hounds showing on the boats off Ingoldmells and Chapel and a number of good Thornbacks. When i say on the boats I mean from about 300yards off low water, so theres always a chance of some moving closer in. As for Bass again theres a few on the boats but not in any numbers but what is there are decent ones

one of my mates caught a lesser spotted dog off six marsh beach on sand eel last week so you could give them a try always good to vary the bait .fresh lug is ok if you want flounder or dab .

Stick with crab mate, medium size baits and launch them. expect long periods of nothing but stick with it and hopefully you will get 1 or 2. if fishing a medium or big tide alternate between 2 rods as weed on the line can cause a big problem.
