Is frozen herring just as good as fresh or would it be too mushy?

Frozen works fine just add elastic. Caught on frozen and re frozen. Frozen will last over an hour wrapped on.

Fresh or good quality frozen herring is one of the best baits for Rays.Dont use refrozen fish baits as they go mushy, your bait is the only thing the fish are interested in so make sure it's the best you can get.The longest I would leave a bait out is 30 minutes and that's pushing it.
