    Strangford

Ventured out yesterday morning for the first throw of the year. I still havent put the boat back in to Ballywalter yet so I had a throw at low tide over the Narrows at Ballywalter. I had heard some reports about Sea Trout. Didnt see any but had a good time with the Blockan (Coalfish). Half a dozen fish in 2 hours up to two pound. On light tackle they really do go well.

I am tempted to try a running bait, squid or mackeral. Has anyone tried this or is tide too fast at Portaferry.

This also looks like Bass territory. Has anyone seen Bass in Strangford?

Well its great to be back after a long winter. What about the Ardglass guys. Didi you do any good over the Winter?

    Thumbs up

Didnt give it too much of a rattle over the winter - took myself off to South Africa for a months fishing instead. Some serious specimens down there!

Hopefully get the boat back in the marina in Ardglass this weekend and see how we get on. As you say its good to get back into the swing of things!
