Hi,

It’s an exciting time here and that familiar feeling of anticipation has started to overwhelm everything we do. We are in the process of planning our next trip to the Andaman Islands!
Being ‘freshies’ more ways than one, the sea has opened up a whole new world of fishing opportunities for us. Our first trip to the islands was spectacular, in terms of the experience. The sea was as calm as a lake, the islands were covered with thick tropical jungles, with crystal clear waters and reefs everywhere. The abundance of unfished water and pristine habitat made it a fantastic fishing ground. However it was not as easy as we expected. The size and expanse of everything out there tends to leave one wondering where to begin. We tried all we knew and at that time thought we were ‘pros’, we caught our fish, all pretty ones that probably belonged in the reef or in an aquarium. It left us again scratching our heads, wondering what to do.
This time around things should be different. We’re sufficiently armed with Stellas, Tiagras, trolling rods and the works not to forget half a trunk full of yo zuris and rapalas. A friend who’s fished the sea from Singapore should meet us there as well. So things look good as we prepare once again to take on that last frontier and hopefully we’ll get to do battle with a couple of Monsters of the Deep!!
