As you probably know I've put quite a few reports on here about various places around the World.

Up until 28 March 2008, I used Thumbnails to insert photos at the bottom of the report, but then to make the reports more interesting and easier to read, I learned that you could insert them into the text using a Photobucket (free) account.

And that's what I've been doing ever since.....

But yesterday I had 160-odd photos in one album on Photobucket and as they were now difficult to find amongst the 10 different pages and uploads/downloads were now taking ages, I decided to reorganise them into various different albums for parts of the World.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!

Photobucket now works brilliantly quickly again, BUT, every one of the photos that I put into posts between 28/03/2008 and 07/08/2009 has now been deleted from the threads and every post!!!!!

I was under the impression that once a photo was in a post it was permanently embedded there....well it's NOT, and EVERY time a post is read WSF uses the live link back to Photobucket to access each photo (it happens quite quickly!).

So BEWARE....if you move your photos around different albums in Photobucket, they WILL be deleted from any posts you've used them in. It's not totally irrevocable, as if you move the picture back to its original location/folder that you used to first insert the photo, it CAN be re-accessed and appears as normal.

One day I might have the many hours required to return all my photos back to their original location....but it won't be soon.

If anyone wants to access the photos in any of my reports or posts from that period, send me a PM and I'll restore that report/post to its original condition.

And for everyone a bit of advice. If you're going to use photobucket, put your photos into small albums within your overall album when you first download them....that way they can be left there, be easy to access overall and you'll never lose the right link.
