    Evening all,

Hopefully going to plan a trip for the cod at the start of November, I noticed the tides are big springs!, so what do you guys think fish best big tides or the smaller ones?, I'm hoping to fish either Ferrybridge or The Dragons Teeth!.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Cheers Jason

I just use the tide table I bought from my local fishing shop in Cardiff, as the tide times for Cardiff are very similar time to the tides on chesil!.

I've found in the past that big tides will bring the cod in, however, beware any strong S/W winds on big tides, it will spit your rig back out at ya!

Larger tides, but as mentioned the water colour is important, a nice dirty brown is best with a decent surf on, if the water is clear you will probably struggle

Oh and the tides at Chesil and Cardiff are very different, there are 4 high tides and 4 low tides a day at Chesil instead of 2 highs and 2 lows in Cardiff, and our tides are nowhere near as big as your ones! have a look here for tides:-

2013 Tide Table for Chesil Beach, England for fishing <º(((><

    Jim
Species 2014: Pouting, Whiting, Dab, Bass, Spotted Ray, LSD, Turbot, Blonde Ray, Undulate Ray, Starry Smoothound, Ballan Wrasse
    Species 2013:21

    Target: Catch a 30lb+ Shore Tope....yeah right! So.....Catch more than 25 species
