I was only discussing these as a possibility for the weekend with a buddy boat last night.

The trouble is I do not have the numbers, if someone would like to PM them to me as well,I would really appreciate it.

    Cheers
    Charlie

The French Banks are on the Outer Eastern approaches to the Solent. you have the Spoil Grounds, then a couple of miles further out you have the Overfalls which are a series of sand banks, then a couple of miles further out you have the French Banks. this is where the commercial guys fish for Bass. I was hoping to get some numbers from anyone if they have fished here recently? apparently the bass love live sandeels and wont take much else.

i would have thought the tides might be a little on the small side for there.

good luck if you get out there though, last time we fished it on valkyrie it was hard going but we ended up with around 25 bass. most were caught on small sandeels, there were around 8 other boats there and they all seemed to be struggling.

by the way are there lots of series of banks called "french banks" as i have heard these mentioned in other areas.

Sorry I haven't got the numbers,
the overfalls will produce Blonde Ray, Brill and huss on a small tide, but
not many bass. Please prove me wrong.
    Have a good trip.
