sole secrets.

As the sole fishing is so good at the channel islands, i thought i would ask you boys if you can give me any tips or secret baits ect..........
I fish for soles here on the iow alot in the summer/ autum. i do "ok", i got 12 last year the biggest being 2lb6oz. But i really need to step up a gear as some betting has been mentioned for this years sessions so please help

I use lug and rag baits, size 4 hooks, short snoods.........Any secret tactics guys?

I had a look at the thread as I thought I was going to pich up some tips! Maybe some white rag may make a difference on the right ground? May get hammered by other fish first though.

A number of years ago there were some very big sole being caught here in Alderney including the 6-8 record.
The anglers who had the most success were using really big baits of rag, lug and razor on 3/0 hooks!
It was the big bait=big fish approach and it sure paid off with the amount of 5lb+ sole they had.
