    Gelcoat

    Hi guys,

More advice sought.......... The gelcoat on my seatrooper is starting to look tired and dull. Any tips on products and techniques to bring the shine back to her. Someone told me to use the marine T-Cut on 1600 grit paper, but this seems a bit extreme to me.......or is it?

    Thanks in advance.

If there are stratches or stains you can't remove with paste, use the finest wet and dry used wet, then cut with paste. Once you have got the shine back, apply two coats of fibreglass polish. That seals the surface, otherwise it will just get grubby again. It is worth investing in a polisher - Draper do one for about £25 available from good chandlers like Marine Super Store or Compass24. It is worth investing in the best marine products as they do stand up to the environment better that car products, in general.

    Cheers Salar,

I have a polisher already, but wasn't sure which product to use to get the shine back. Too easy to waste money on something that's not up to the job. Have now in my possesion G3, so lets hope tomorrow stays dry and sunny!

Was intending to then seal with Bell aquaglaze polymer wax has I already have some. Hopefully by the end of it all it will again hurt my eyes to look at her in full sun
