I fish it wrapped around a sandeel, one of my favourite baits and last week I caught wrasse, pollack codling and dogfish using it, in fact I had a bite every cast from a rock mark

i used mussels on monday and i found out that you have to put them in a bag like a washing bag or tights because when they hit the water they break up.:fishing : idea:

Use bait elastic, or stuff them inside a whole squid closed with bait elastic and on a pennel.

Or if you want a really big Mussel bait, stuff a whole load of mussels into Fox Armamesh and put the hook through the "sausage"?

As already stated, pierce the tailend of a squid and pass the hook right through the body cavity until it emerges near the head.
Put three or four mussels onto the hook and thread them up the line, then ease them into the cavity on the squid and pull the hook back down.
Bait elastic up the squid, making sure the cavity is nicely sealed up, I use the weight wires to make several holes so that the scent can escape
    Good luck
    Ian

Thread several onto a bait needle wrap the elastic round them to bind them all together and then thread them up the hook like a worm bait I've had a few flounder, loads whiting on smaller hooks and the odd bass or two on 4/0 pennel rigs using this technique.
