Been out three days on the trot with different crew, a record for me. Have fished from the Kingmere to Bognor with mixed results. Plenty of bream and great hounds, but where are the mackerel ? The fog was interesting especially when one of the sets of pair trawlers appeared form the sea mist and nearly took me out. Silly of me to be in their way and hinder their progress in destroying the fishing and seabed. Must do better next time. Have attached a couple of photos to give a picture of the fun we've had. Cheers Rusty. PS Cascars and Alan, was calling you up today (Thursday), but no reply, where were you ?

Depends what time you were calling. We were at Kingmere until around 1230 and then did some wrecking . I noticed in the afternoon though that the radio was on the wrong channel although I know it had not been like that all day.

    Hi Guys.

Hope Alan and Cascars had a good day on the Kingmere, not sure it is fishing as well as it can at the moment. The picture of my Orkney was taken by a mate (Phil) who owns a 19 + Day Angler. We swopped cameras to get shots of our own boats. Was out today as well on my own. Committed the cardinal sin of having 2 rods out. You know what comes next, a 15 ld. hound on one rod and a 12 ld. on the other at the same time. Won't make that mistake again although I did manage to land and return them both. Hounds are great sporting fish in my opinion, fight like champs on light tackle, cleanly hooked and easy to release. Cheers Rusty.

Looks like your having fun with the hounds Russ...well done.
When the water clears the fishing should really pick up.

I was supprised how well it fished Sunday, over 40 bream betwen 1 and 3.5lb to the best anglers on the boat, probably over 120 between the 6 of them plus hounds etc. Most smaller and all female fish returned. I even had a go with a sliding float for a while which wa a little different. The bream certainly are there now, shame we have had to wait so long. Just hoping the mackerel turn up in numbers soon.

    Few mackerel.

Was out again today, good hounds and bream, but very few mackerel. The water colour is almost green with little visibility and a huge amount of weed. Is it my favourite pair trawlers churning up the seabed ??? Regards Rusty.

We fished on the west ditch yesterday , weed was really bad , and now two sets of pair trawlers at it . We had no mackeral at all , bites were few and far between but managed some clonking bream , one smoothie and my first bass of the year , about 4lb on squid , and only a few LSD's !
