Recent Gambia Photos
Here are a selection of pics from my trip last week. All were caught from the beach, including stingray to 30lb, captain fish to 25lb, a 9lb butterfish and a small guitarfish (they caught a 50kg monster recently). So far in two recent trips to the Gambia, every session has produced fish of at least 20lb though there are many fish in the 4 to 8lb region. Not all fish were caught on camera as the wife wanted it on occasions.
Anyone thinking of going or wanting more info, PM me. You'll be surprised how cheap it can be.Last edited by stonefish; 21-04-2006 at 00:51.

Hi gazm,
I stayed at the Palm Grove hotel, £35 per night for a large room, family of 4, B+B.
Most of the fishing was at Sanyang beach, probably a mile and a half or so south of the beach restaurants. We also had some nice fish at "A" section ( what they call it for the beach festival) , about a mile north of the restaurants around the headland.
The 9LB butterfish was caught on the beach by my hotel (first cast into Gambian waters).
Tony.

Rayking, they are very similar if not the same as our stingray, the locals called it a Tundura.
