Improved FG knot - Super-braid to leader

The staff at Sportfishing magazine have recently undertaken a series of tests, 43 in fact, of various knot systems - super-braids to monofilament leaders. In their tests the one with the greatest knot strength - 58.4lbs using 30lb Suffix Performance braid - was this one - http://www.sportfishingmag.com/artic...?ID=1000082954 - the Improved FG knot. (Um ... does illustrate a point regarding 'over-testing' of many braids to what it says on the spool. As they say Caveat emptor (a legal term in Latin) - Let the buyer beware - if you're planning to fish with World records in mind.)

Any rate, as well as some photographs of stages within the knot's construction on that link, there's also a full 30 plus minute video clip illustrating it.

I have just learned this knot for some fishing in Thailand.
To get that much strength from such a slim, simple line attachment (as it's not really even a knot) is amazing!

I can tie one in under 2 mins.

Have you used it on any big fish?

Here's mine with 65lb braid and 100lb mono:
