    Record Cod

Have ever heard of the expression Gutted. Well when you catch a record cod ( but you don't know that it is a record) weighing 39 lb and you gut it to stop the worms from escaping from the gut into white flesh, only to find when you get back to port that 37.8 lb is the Jersey record. YOU FEEL GUTTED. hence the origin of the expression "Gutted"

Micky Yates July 2004 on Priority 1 English Channel. Caught on live sand eel.

Wink Red Bream in Belcrout Bay

I had eaten my Red Bream that I caught in Belcrout Bay when Mick in the fish market Tackle Shop in Beresford Street told me it was 1/2 a pound over the shore caught record Truly Gutted I must say.
But at least I got to enjoy it in another delicious way, lol
