Corbiere at high tide yesterday morning
Hello
Spent about an hour down at Corbiere yesterday morning doing some spinning. Tried the right side first - no bites at all! On the left side I did get one big bite and saw a bass follow my lure in before turning away at the last moment!
Not fished around there before - any experiences anyone would like to share about fishing in that area? Water was crystal clear - not sure that helped much!
Was using shallow diving Luck Craft lure - maybe needed to use a deeper diving lure?
On another note - have noticed people fishing off the new reclamation site (the one they are still filling in) Any idea what's been targeted out there??
Cheers

The answer is the same thing as you have been after!! I have often thought sodt plastics, with a leadhead, would be good worked off of Corbiere, but it is a very tidal mark, so only fish there for a while each tide.

If you get plucks and see fish turn away, try retreiving faster but NEVER stop reeling until the fish hooks itself, do not strike a pluck with Bass.
The lure type would depend on what they are hunting (sandeel?) but often if the water allows, try something deeper diving like a J13 in blue, never fished there myself but the same can apply to most similar marks.see www.GBASS.co.uk for Guernsey Bass Anglers Sportfishing Society Information

I've fished there a couple of times using shallow diving luckycraft lures, fished a mark to the left of the lighthouse just before you get there. Caught a couple of bass 2lb ish.
Also as you walk across to the lighthouse about half way on the left there are some rocks where i caught a 4lber
Just below the highlands hotel on the right as you walk down, you can fish into the bay. I've had a few follow here but no takes
Hope this helps
