Blackpool Fishing
HI all,
I'm a new boat angler and new to the site.
I went fishing on my new boat on Saturday, just near Wyre light and caught nothing.
Could anybody tell me of any reachable marks (in 14' Orkney) around the Blackpool area which are productive for general fishing.
I have GPS and fishfinder, so coordinates would be okay.
Thank you very much in advance for your replies.
regards,
Carl

Carl,
I take it you launched from Knott End??
Did you fish over high water?
Next to Wyre light is a Buoy called Kings Scarr buoy, its to the west of Wyre Light about 1 mile - 1 1/2 miles away, try there. Also turn right at the top of the channel and head towards the Lune Estuary - about 1 1/2 miles - 2miles away at the entrance of the estuary at low water, I know they've been catching a lot of Plaice. Be careful not to anchor in the shipping channel here or you'll get the wrong end of a Roll-On-Roll Off ferry on you!!
I launch from Knott End and usually fish the areas above, obviously there are some other marks worth trying around there and in the autumn / Winter try in front of Rossall for the big cod.
