Australian Mako on the Fly
I've just found this interesting thread - http://www.fishing.net.nz/asp_forums....asp?TID=15398 - that describes a 3 1/2 hour battle off Sydney, Australia with an estimated 450lb plus Mako Shark that members might find of interest. Unsuccessful, of course! But what a challenge on a fly rod! At one stage it had run 500 metres, try winding that back on a direct geared fly reel.
There are some pictures attached to the thread, including one of an even BIGGER fish that had appeared first.
