Spinning & lure fishing in France
I'm off to France next week, just above La Rochelle (west coast). The beaches are a mixture of flat sand, and rocks. Does anyone know if it fishes the same (types of fish/techniques, etc)?
There's not much on the international section.

I've flyfished in the sea in the North and South of Brittany for both bass and golden grey mullet on very shallow beaches from low water up. It's all sight fishing in 18 inches of water or less, just like flats bonefishing.I used a 7wt rod intermediate line(a floater spooks them in such shallow clear water) and 8lb fluorocarbon any heavier and you'll get refusals.Flies for bass were light coloured lightweight Surfcandy sandeel imitations, and for the mullet shortshank size 6 or 8 fritz type shrimps in green tan or bizarrely bright orange! My best trip was at a place called Carentec near Roscoff, the trip coincided with a die off post breeding of beach fleas/shrimps(they looked more like freshwater shrimps than saltwater shrimps) which turned orange as they died and the golden greys and bass were very quick to capitalise! I caught 9 mullet (best 1 1/2lb) and 2 bass (best 3 lb) on small orange fritz flies. Incidentally you can differentiate at quite long range between goldens and bass by the golden flash from the mullet compared to the more silvery bass.It goes without saying that GOOD quality polaroids are a must for this most exciting type of flyfishing.
