South Australia
Hi Al
Um.......it's probably close on 20 years since any of our members fished that area, and then it was out by Kangaroo Island and the surrounding reefs for Great Whites. So I really can be of any help.
If no one else responds could I perhaps suggest you try posting on one of the Australian forums. This is a particularly active and useful one - http://www.fishnet.com.au/, but I know there're several others.

kangaroo isle
get yourself to kangaroo island i stayed there for 2weeks on our trip round oz and the fishing was FANTASTIC costs about £70 to take ya car well worth it, had eagle rays, stingers, king george whiting, etc... adelaide has some outstanding ,mulloway fishin just a days drive away,or localally, but you need 4wheel to get to some of the beach access rds, I can put you intouch with a guy out there who could put you on the fish when you go?if you want the best fishing go west oz,if you need info on that i got loads fished it solid for 3months!
