Yep I have one, no problem.
Rarely use it, but used on the occasional Conger trip.

i've also just bought this rod with the intention of using it in some of the deeper water marks (300-500ft) , with this in mind and the fact that i'll be using quite a lot of lead to hold bottom i'm after opinions on a reel to complete the set-up. species targeted will be bmd's spurdog's conger and possibly skate. i'll be using braid probably 50lb and have been thinking along the lines of the tyrnos 2-speed, is this reel suitable and what size would you recommend? anyone suggest an alternative reel ?

i appreciate this is slightly off topic but hope it's relevant to the original post.

A very good reel with huge gears and plenty of grunt. I've got the 10/ 2 speed but for skate and conger go for a bigger one, although I'm sure the 10 will handle them, a bigger engine in a car lasts longer because it's under less stress.

had previously read the thread in your link but it sort of went round in circles a bit without reaching a conclusion i felt. i have a couple of 114 6/0's so maybe should just stick to them . on a side note do you feel that this rod is under gunned so to speak in the event of a skate encounter?

the 6/0 is a big reel and imo not really balanced on the waveblaster hence the thoughts on maybe a tyrnos 16 or 20 2-speed which will hold miles of braid in a smaller package while having the power for the job ? my head is starting to hurt now.
