Can anybody tell me what the official story is on bait digging at Newburgh. The last time I was there, it appeared that people were trying to ban digging because all the Sea Trout anglers were falling into the troughs when wading. (People had not been back filling their trenches)
So, questions are:
1 Are we still allowed to dig in the rag beds?
2 Are the lug beds above the bridge still out of bounds due to them being a bird sanctuary?
Any advice is appreciated.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing tackle

I don't know about the legality of it for sure, but as far as I am aware you are not allowed to dig in the sanctaury and they do have the legal right to ban it. The lower estuary has a 'ban' as well but I am not sure they actually have a legal right to, magna carta and all that. I dont dig there though 'cos I can t be bothered with the grief.
