Any one fishing the Bass Comp?
Hi There,
Is anyone fishing the Bass competition this w/e?
I've entered and now find myself thinking about what baits to use, where to fish and when to fish 24/7! Not that this is unusual ;-)
There seem to be lots of fish around at the momnent - and the forecast's looking good for Saturday and Sunday, Friday night could be a bit stormy but that's good.
If your fishing good luck! Hopefully we'll see some awesome fish weighed in...

I can't make it over but I think a there might be some people from the fishing-guernsey forum coming over. Jambo started up a thread there.
Good luck bald hope you did better than my go at the Guernsey comp and let us know how you get on!"Even a fish wouldn't get in trouble if it kept its mouth shut!"

Bass Comp
Yes I'm doing the bass comp going down the harbour as big bass will come in cause its a bit rough, use a running ledger with mackie and squid as bait should be good!

I am also doing the comp, but weather is going to make it challenging! Take care everyone, and only keep what you need to.
My aim is to catch a decent fish, weigh it, and release it!!
My other aim is not to get washed in, which will probably be more difficult!

Managed to get 4th spot with a 7lb 1oz fish caught on Friday night on a ledgered sandeel and we had 2 other small fish in the 2lb range!
Also caught a lovely sole (my fist one!) ... kind of by accident ;-)
Great w/e made even better with the fish - thanks to all the organisers, we'll definately be fishing again next year. So tired!!
Cheers, Tom
