5oz lead & plug
HI all this may be stupid question i'v had idear dont know if this'l worrk been fishing off wall with very strong flow at times 6oz grippers wont hold bass are there thinking of using floating plug shallow dive type on 3ft trace about 6ft above 5or6oz gripper any idears if this will work? thanks all dai

It's got to be worth a try. A bit like using a down rigger for trolling deep waters.

I know folks used to use a redgill off the Dover breakwater, lowering their shore gear directly down the side of the wall, a few years ago....for Bass.
I'm guessing that either the redgill was attached to a paternoster positioned a long way above the lead, or they often lowered the lead to just a few feet below the surface.

Thanks for replies will probably try it on friday think if i cast out bare lead on 6ft length of leader then slide plug down line on 3ish ft of 15lb mono using rapala loop to plug & link off zip slider on to main line hoping plug will travel down to main leader knot about 40ft above end swivel then on down to end swivel will post if it works thanks all dai

I tried no luck plug was working loads of vibration up line just no bites will give it a go again tho no one near me cought either appart from 2 lil silver eels
