Gutting Plaice
Hi All,
I'm a bit of a rookie, but I managed to catch a nice size - so I was told! - Plaice on Saturday off the Brighton Marina.
My question is, how do you gut them?
I did manage to get them out, but it was a bit of a slapdash effort!!!
Cheers,

Nice lookin fish!!
To gut them is easy.
Hold the fish on its belly with its head facing away from you. Put tip of knife beneath the pectoral fin and cut to the fishes side which is to the right as you are looking at it. Put the tip of the knife into the hole and hook the guts out, then cut them off as close as you can to the back of the fishes head. I doctered you photo to show roughly were the cut should be.
SSA lure passing by at a steady course and speed might well tempt the fish; but if you give them something to chase - they cannot help themselves.....
