Mike Ladle's maggot flies are hooks with a bit of foam for buoyancy and a live maggot hooked on. Not really a fly but there you go.
Alternatively you could try these rubber maggots. I can't vouch for them but they might work. Obviously the fish need to be feeding on the weed maggots first. I wouldn't bother using these for harbour or estuary mullet.

Not really 'playing cricket old boy' but the Berkley power grubs are deadly ! can have redworms, maggots, pinkies etc I use them as hook shields for all wary fish, no matter what bait I am using, but they are heaven sent for the fly presentation !
Was on the river about 2 weeks ago, had many dace, roach, bleak recently and never had to change the grub once ! The grubs and maggots come in glass jars, make sure you keep em airtight or they will dry out, dont put used baits back in the jar.Know how to prevent sagging?
Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.
Website dealing with yet another flood we suffered, thanks to all for the assistance.
