To spin or not to spin..WHERE is the question
I now have a spinning rod and will be soon purchasing a reel to boot, can anyone reccomend any good spots for spinning along the southwales coast, newport to gower... Spots where you could fish with a normal rod and spin would be ideal?
Not sure if this should be in the s wales forum?Fishing - my religion
The beach - my church
And cod - my god........

I dont suffer from insanity - I enjoy every minute of it

Try around the Gower rock marks, fish plugs around low water for bass in summer for consistant sport.I've also caught schoolies and mackerel from Sker on spinners (schoolies all the way through the tide mackerel around high water) and schoolies from the Mouth of the Ogmore on Dexter Wedges around low water up to 3 hours before high.I've caught bass on plugs from Marcross and of course you could join the commercial rod and line fishermen and fish for tiny bass at the outflow at Aberthaw!Marcross,Ogmore and Sker fish better when the weathers been calm for a few days. When I was a kid we sometimes caught small bass at Sully Island on Abu Tobies and Kosters in August again in calm weather from the Green Island in the middle of the island.
As Storm Lures say
ALWAYS THINK LIKE A FISH NO MATTER HOW WEIRD IT GETS
