Great fishing at Saltburn on Sunday

Fished a local boat club match on Sunday (16 boats) and what a great day it was. We were over a good mark over Saltburn at 4.10 a.m. - thats right 4 in the morning.

First drop I took a 9lb and 5lb cod on one trace. My son's friend a 5lber on the same drift. Next drift a 7lb cod came aboard to the same lad, and only his second time fishing with us. We fished til 11.am and weighed the biggest cod in which got joint second prize at 8lb 6oz - it was beaten by an 8lb 8oz ling - if only I'd weighed it in sooner! 21 cod in all, the smallest of which was over 3lbs.

brilliant catches there. what were the prizes?

It was £3 per man to enter, 1st was £75 ( I think) 2nd £40 3rd £25.
Just a bit of fun really, but once money becomes involved it gets serious.
