help pendulum casting ?
hello to all . well i have been practising the pendulum for a few months now after purchasing a tip tornado rod and a abu 6500 reel ,but haveing problems at the end. i tried the reel on the bottom of the rod but left half me skin on the line
, so went back to normal position . my led is about level with right hand . i stand with my left side faceing the water and let the weight swing out to 11 oclock . on the return i exstend my left arm as to bring the weight back to about 3 oclock position , but then it all goes down hill as i feel slack line, then tension ,the weight ends up around the same distance when paste out but no further .any ideas?
as is getting really bladey anoying.
your info would be much appreciated regards curly

Hey Curly .......try swinging out to 2 oclock then then backswing to about 7 oclock........dont bend your arms and unwind slowly to compress your rod with a snap at the end.........dont put power on to soon

It is so frustrating not being able to help. You need someone who is a competemt pendulum catser and who can spot mistakes. I can guarantee that the "end" is not the only thing you are doing wrong....three months of casting is like learning brain surgery in three months and now you want to chop someone about without f*cking their head up....ain't gonna happen! The thing is, most people start off trying the pendulum and keep practicing the wrong bits until it is virtually impossible to get them to break the bad habits! I know, I got stuck in a rut for years...I still can't get loads of height into the lead! If everything you are doing is spot on, then the "end" is all down to poor timing. If you don't know of anyone who is a competent caster, but you know what you SHOULD be doing, try setting up a camcorder and videoing yourself....it is a real eye opener!!
Good luck, and I hope you iron out the probs.
