Are You Covered
Just a thought while reading through the casting threads, as i have not seen anyone mention it.
I wonder how many people have got the appropriate insurance cover to cover against third party injury when casting or fishing.
ARE YOU COVERED???
Or maybe you have got such a large bank account, you don't think you need it and can offset the compensation claim for hundreds of ££££'s IF you injure someone.Micky

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig.

Does it?? I would check your membership, i would hate to see someone thinking they were covered, when in-fact there not.
Last time i looked into it, membership was £16.00 for individual membership.
This did not include insurance, Insurance was extra.
Not sure how much it was for insurance as an individual, but for clubs etc see below.
The limit of Indemnity is £5 million and the Policy covers your club (association, society), officers and whilst they are engaged in the following club organised angling activities :-
All disciplines of angling.
On land or at sea within UK waters (200 miles) and these include the Channel Islands and the whole of Ireland.
For coaching, including teach-ins and roadshows.
For casting, including casting competitions on land.
Indemnity is also provided to clubs who provide events for non members.
All club officers and officials are covered for non angling activities whilst acting on behalf of the club.

My NFSA personal member card says "The above member has insurance cover of £5 million for third party liability claims whilst engaged in angling activities" & cost either £16 or £17 for membership & not a lot else - two? newsletters a year
My casting club insurance is £15 for the same amount of cover for casting & fishing & I get various club discounts, tuition etc thrown in
