How To Gut A Flat Fish
Hello All ,
Can Anybody Tell Me How To Gut A Flatfish.
I'm Catching Loads Of Flounder Resently And Have Been Wanting To Take One Home For The Table.

simply cut from the ass across - nearly to the spine just behind the dorsal fin.
See the line drawn on the attatched pic.
Or
You can insert the knife under the gill cover and cut along and down to the fishes ass hole. Either way be sure to pull all the guts out and give it a good wash, especially if you intend to store the fish rather than eat it straight away.
SSA lure passing by at a steady course and speed might well tempt the fish; but if you give them something to chase - they cannot help themselves.....

Feel for the squidgy bit behind the head, make a slit, wack your finger in and pull it all out.
Cheers
Dan

yup DJMJERICO just cut the napper and the squidgy bit off in one, a tip i used to use when i was a kid was to look for the most chopped off bits at the side of the river/estuary then set up camp there.
