I've used them to good effect. Rate them better than plain mackerel.

I have a few packs of that stuff geffaz, its definatly full of oil you can see the slick when it hits the water. I wouldn't like to say that you could leave it out too much longer, I'm not sure how well penetrated the oil is. It definalty seems to give off a strong oil trail though which can't be bad. I haven't used to enough to say its any better or worse than standard macky.

You mean oil with added mackerel!

It's very oily, stuff gets everywhere but we've had good success with this. I've had a bait out for up to 45 minutes and still caught on it. Only costs about 9p per pack more than the standard stuff as well.
It doesn't take too well to being refreezed though so only take what you will use and sling the leftovers at the end of the session.Visit the WSF tackle shop HERE!
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, swims like a duck and goes 'Quack' it's probably a duck. Or if you're into conspiracy theories it's a chicken.

im a firm beleiver that some bolky bait like a macky flank holds its attraction alot longer than most think! i mean a bass needs the ability to find food even if its been in the water days! think this stuff could be good as it will create a big burst of atraction on casting! cheers for the replys confidence in bait is every thing for me
so ill give it a wurl!kick snobbery out of sea fishing

I'll give them a go!
Last summer I gutted a load of Mackeral, coated them in extra virgin oil and bunged them on the BBQ. I had 7 or 8 left over and they went into the freezer. I hooked them out in December and they out-fished everything else on the boat. 4 of us fishing and every single fish was caught on them. We had Whiting, Bass, 12 Conger, 3 Huss, and the usual LSD's. There was nearly a mutiny when we started running out!
