    frozen mussel

    i have frozen mussel left, how long can you freeze it for, will it keep for next winter?

    i can refreeze mussels they go very soggy fast thou if u keep defrosting but alsong as u have bait elastic u can get anythink on a hook ;p
    catchs this year:100+ whiting/23 flattys /dab/flounder/plaice etc..../26 small codlings /1 bass/butterfish/20 coalies

    Mussel will keep forever in the freezer. Gets smellier and smellier the more you defrost and refreeze it too

    i allways find they keep till you run out, i defrost them and freeze them over and over and tend to catch best when they are a bit smelly ! if you want to toughen them up keep them well salted they go like rubber then but as soon as you get them in the water they look like they have come straight out the shell

    same for me keeps forever unlike squid defrost and freeze a few times and it 4kin stinks
    If all the fish we have lost were as big as we say they were the sea would be full................

    At the start of each winter season I fill a vitalite tub with mussel, then just keep topping it up and re-freezing after each session.

    Still catch nowt, mind.
