I Just use a fixed pennell, Between 2 and 4 ft long.

I can post pics but you,ll have to wait till one evening in the week!

Cod are just eating machines. Use big hooks, heavy mono, and make your snoods long.

Avoid pully rigs unless you really must use them due to the ground you fish. Seen too many good anglers miss hook ups on pully rigs. (Unless you tie them semi fixed) but id still favor a fixed pennell and ues power gum instead of crimps.
Then the rain came down in sheets of grey and washed all of my dreams away

    new to beach fishing

Hi mate. Your best idea would be to go to a decent tackle shop and buy some sea fishing rigs that have been pre-made and buy some , you can then copy them . Another thing you can do is " google " [ sea fishing rigs ] and a load will come up with pictures for you to study and enlarge . You can also google " SEA FISHING RIGS ON EBAY " you can buy them direct with some tremendous bargains on there if your worried about building them yourself. You can google " sea fishing cod rigs on ebay ". Have fun . I know they're on google ,i just checked to make sure for you.

The dropper rig is designed to allow you to choose where exactly your bait will rest. The Drennan powergum loop will hold your rig streamlined and secure until impact, releasing the snoods to drop to your desired point. It will allow you to fish well below the lead.

A single Pennel snood will allow you to fish up a snood of up to 5ft below the lead to avoid spooking fish such as bass/Ray. Excellent for cod, this is a pure downtide rig. The rig is also designed to convert within seconds in a 2hk Cascade, Long/low or Portsmouth loop. Single and Double Dropper options available.

Imho This can only work if the tide is running down your line, and seeing as how we fish across a tide when beach fishing I think the dropper hook link will run stay put at the top of the pulley body until it is wound in.

Droppers do catch cod but I think there are better rigs that are more efficient at "hooking up".

Catch a cod from the shore - DONE

A straight forward pulley rig clipped down, 4/0 hook or pennel with a 2ft snood 30lb amnesia, nice and easy and keeps it simple,

Pulleys are ok if you put a stop knot/bead on them so the fish gets the weight of the lead when it swims off, they are not proper pulleys when you do this but cast well when clipped down
