    Lugworm??

    Hi say if I pumped some lugoworm and then could not use them for a good while and new they were going to die, can you freeze them?? because ive hurt of frozen black lug??? can anyone help me out please thanks if I have a box of seawater how long will they keep for in the fridge if changed water often. Also whata re the different types of lugworm?? Oh while on the subject can you collect crab and then freeze them down?? thanks matt

    i got sum black lug in my tanks i keep lem for a week before i yoused them common s i had for two weeks then uesd them i change the sea evey day the worms were fine when i used them got about 400 in my thanks a the mo there doing fine had them for a week now going to keep sum a see if they keep longer yes you can fezze crab down remore shell and lungs and frezze in bags a get all the air out hope this helps

    Black lug can be frozen, but red/blow lug can't, they just turn to a mushy pulp when they defrost. Before freezing black lug, squeeze out the guts etc otherwise they will decompose quickly when thawed.

    as you pumped them i take it they're yellows. so yeah gut and roll in 10's in newspaper. if you keep dropping them from a height into a bucket they will burst and perfect to roll.

    yes crabs can be frozen. peel as you normally would, then wrap in kitchen foil and freeze. mark the date when you freeze them so you know which ones to use first.

    don't freeze 'em, salt 'em! I am not going to repeat the scientific bit, as I have done that several times, as others on the site will confirm, and they will also confirm that it is far better than freezing.
    Search for "salting lugworms and ragworms" should give you the answer you need.
