North Down Fishing Spots & Slipways

    Hi all,
The mate just aquired himeself a wee boat (12feet) c/w a small engine. Just wondering if any of you guys in the know, knew of where's best at the minute to try for a launch for some fishing.
I am not Blessed with sea-legs (spent more time ground-baiting than fishing the last time in a boat if you get my dift). So somewhere that tends to be calm would be a help.
We do not want to go out too far, 100 yards or so, would this be enough for some decent fish?

If you get a day or more usually evening with an off shore breeze a Westerly/Northerly around co down coast it will be very calm close to the shore.

I fish out of ardglass with codling/pollack/wrasse and mackerel all easily caught close to the harbour mouth and surrounding rocks. Id say similar catches all around the coast, its a myth that you have to go out for miles to catch the big fish!
