Beachy Head mini meet?
Anyone fancy doing a mini meet the later part of May, fishing from low around Beachy Head reefs with the emphasis on plugging until dark and then switching to bait after dark?
Probably on the Sat 19th May, low tide at 20:00

That sounds very interesting. Do you mind having a relative newbie along? Do you walk along from Holywell or over the cliffs?

Mr Pugs, Hugh, JD et al
Sounds like a good time for a meet as the bass should be established off the reefs by the end of May. Not sure if you are a regular down at the head but you need to be very careful fishing a flooding tide at the ledge. I usually find the last 2 hours down and the first hour up at the ledge are OK. Personally I dont stay too long on the flood preferring to come back to Cow gap reefs as the tide floods in over the reef edge.
Edible peeler is usually the best bait, but prawn and sandeel will also take fish. Fish close in.
Would love to join you but I will be stuck in Vietnam at end of May, I'm expecting to be home in July for 3 weeks
and am looking forward to some bass, smuts and a sole if I can get away from all the jobs that need doing at home.
Regards
barry

pugs, i fance having a bash with the lure (only the one rapala at £10 each !) down there next week sometime, i'm fishing a species comp (week long) and have a zone limit of beachy head lighthouse, might even take the fly rod if the weather is fine (just so i can make an ass of myself and crack-off a few fly/lures ! )
you free any time next week ? i definitely working wed's, and got a club comp on wed's eve, but otherwise i think i'm fairly free for an early or late session on thursday or friday, maybe even sat am, got lots of fishing to do next week, but i'm hoping to squeeze it in somewhere !
