    Medway fishing

Saw some lads fishing off The Strand ... have read that there are fish to be caught off the Medway City Estate ... want to take an 8 year old during the day ... any suggestions appreciated. Has anyone done any Estuary fishing from a boat?

Had some good mullet up to two plus pounds further upstream near the paper mills on bread and earthworms.
Try Gillingham pier. Lots of small stuff but plenty of bites throughout high tide. Very popular with local kids so get there early. Limited space but clean and dry concrete area to fish from. Don't have to cast too far either. Mainly Dab and pouting. SOME occasional other flatties too. Rag and Lug are best.
Tackle dosent need to be too heavy, not many snags. I took my kids there a while back.
