team extreme's invitational dover breakwater trip

    ok,

    fishyrob, empty your pm's !!!!

time for a proper big meet !

pm's have been sent out, for now the meet is invitational, no offence is intended to those who've not received one yet, but it was decided to be sure to include our regulars, return a some hospitality to those who've hosted team extreme members, and to make sure those originally interested get first refusal.

this is a private booking only. only names on the list, will be getting on the boat, simple, so please don't tell everyone there's a meet on the breakwater and to turn up, they'll not get on. end of.

I have booked the trip for friday 27th july, its an all nighter, and will cost £15 all in. 8pm out, 8.30am back. once i have returns from the invites, i'll know how many spare places are going to be offered. and i'll post the full details of the trip,

if you're interested, but haven't been pm'd, and you're sure you can go, then leave you name on here, it'll be on a first come first served basis, there are only a few spaces left (we've limited it to 30), so no time to hesitate, equally, no messing either please, simple yes or no and you name, questions can be pm'd to me, if spare spaces are available, payment is in advance only.

    thanks.

big prob now, you should have all had a pm, but for those who havent seen it, the date has had to change to the alternative, fri 10th aug, due to a double booking.

    sorry if this inconveniences anyone.

hopefully now we can get the brighton trip swapped to the old dover weekend, saving a marathon 48hr session for those of us going to both !

he'll be ok !! it doesn't move around too much,

btw, should the event be cancelled due to weather (i'll have to call them after the shipping forecast at midday, on the day), then we can simply return the moneys paid, or carry it over to another date, they won't take us out, or will come and get us, if the weather is likely to be a force 6, having fished in a 4 the other day, i can understand why !

    cheers.

    I have some basic questions regarding safety;

    1) Is it railed off?
    2) Do they have life rings?
    3) Will there be more than one person with the lifeboat number?
    4) Is there an action plan if things do go pear shaped?
    5) Is there a toilet there?
    6) If I don't catch will I get the wooden spoon prize!?

    hi dude,

1), metal railings on the outside, metal/wire rope railings on the inside.
    2), yes, lots.
3), yes, 999. ask for coastguard
4), we can still have a meet, be a shame not to do something with the night / evening if the worst happens, 15 mins up the road is deal, some fairly deep water there from the beach, poss other piers, deal was very very snaggy last time i was there though !
5), 2 toilets, one each end, though you can sneak down the steps if you don't wanna walk 200yrds from the middle, personally, i wouldnt use em after dark, spooky enough in the day !!
    6) definitely.

One more question, is it a "walk off", i.e. draw numbers, number 1 fishes where he/she wants, then number 2 etc, or do we all scarper to the Knuckle and fish on top of each other???? For those who don't know, the knuckle is the hotspot, pegs 1-13, fierce tide, and on occasions can be easier just to empty the contents of your tackle box over the side, rather than get snagged up each cast!
