Thailand
Hi Mackeral
Whereabouts precisely will you be based?
If, by chance, you're in Puket there're a number of links to web sites on this particular thread - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...light=Thailand - that may well be of use. Then of course there's the freshwater fishing much of which is easily accessable on day trips from Bangkok.
But as one of the previous posters mentioned have a look through all the previous posts for Thailand, there're a number that you can easily access from the 'Search this Forum' tab on the Asian forum 'home' page.

I worked in Bangkok for about 8 months and once visited a place called Bun sam lang lake. It is a large freshwater lake with catfish upto 200KG, Siamese carp to 100 Kg. The fishing is awesome, I had almost a thousand lb of fish (26 fish) smallest around 20 lb largest ,77 lb. in a single session.
If you type 'Mekong catfish' in the search you will see plenty of fish. If you are interested let me know and I will send you the guides details.
You will never experience fishing like this I ached for 2 days solid afterwards.
