Hello Mate
Yes I've done the trip with the African Angler 3 times, Ist time was on a John Wilson escorted Safari. First off I'd like to say John is great company and provides top quality tackle and advice and for your first trip to Nasser I would not hesitate in recommending you book on one of his trips.
We went through tailor made holidays and Christine Tailor is also a diamond. All the African Angler staff are brilliant people.
You also get very good vslue for your money compared to some destinations........ your guide will fish for 12 hours a day and you can fish all night for Vundu Cats if you want. half a tin of lunncheon meat on an 8/0 suspended from a balloon above the weeds is the way to go.
The Fishing was hard the first year (2004) but three fish 100lbs or over were boated, by the party of 9 anglers inc John. There werent that many fish in total though about 25 or so and it doesnt take a math genius to work out the average. I was one of the lucky ones and had one dead on 100lb one of 15lb and one tiddler. I myself hooked a lot of Perch but the hooks kept pulling out, very frustrating there were some huge fish lost.
The food is terrific, the guides are a great crack and Nasser itself is stunning.
2nd year 2005....much better.... my mate and I booked a private Safari so there was just two of us and a supply boat, We bought loads of owner trebles and hardly lost a fish all week we had 13 or 14 fish each.... biggest 80lb and nearly all of the fish were 20lb plus. I remember bringing one about 25 to the boat and it was being followed by another big enough to have eaten it....Awesome!
I had a 30 from the shore. The shore fishing was good, I can tell you its something else when a huge fish appears at the rocks at your feet and engulfs your shad rap and proceeds to rip line from your reel.
My mate had lots of Tigers on the fly. We had our own gear now having sussed out the previous year what we needed. We booked again for the next year on arriving home
3rd Year very poor we had 8 fish between us and suffered blank days. for the first few days the weather was blowy and cloudy, it felt like a trip in the Dover straits at times, Our guide Hani was the same one we had the previous year so we had faith in him no problem... he maintained that it was good fishing weather. The biggest fish we had was about 60lb but the average size was not good. We had spent a lot of hours trolling , both fruitless and boring. On the first night I hooked a Vundu but it came off pretty quick, unlucky really cos I thought I'd really dug the hook in hard.
When we arrived back in Garf Hussein we met Barrie Rickards who had beent out for the same week and he had also struggled. We also ran in to one of the lads who had been on the JW trip the first year and he said that they had spent half their time cutting long lines! So the future for the Nile Perch fishing in Nasser didnt look too good at this point. So we elected not go again. I have no idea what it has been like this year.
We are off to Skjervoy in a couple of weeks.

Adding Images

It shouldn't be a problem. You can either use one of the free hosting services like Photobucket - you just then add the relevant url to your post. Or you can resize images using a piece of freeware like IrfanView.
Could I suggest you read these two previous threads - http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...ight=IrfanView and http://www.worldseafishing.com/forum...ad.php?t=63449. All should then become clear.
