Orford Ness 15th/16th September
There is a friendly meet night of 15th/16th September at Orford.
Volunteers sought for a free trip 8.00am 15th September across to the island, bring a Bin Bag, for a clean up from Crouch to the Narrows, then return to the Quay and be taken back to the narrows for the night. Cost £8.00 per head for those that want to come back to the quay for a rest after the clean up, before going out to fish the night.
Those that want to make the morning run and then come back and go again for the night your gear will be looked after for you until you leave for the night session.
Pairs comp friendly.

The intinerary for
Saturday 15th September:
08:00 Ferry leaves Orford Quay for the Crouch.
08:20 Ferry arrives at Crouch. Disembark. Brief run down of whats what.
08:30 Commence clean up. We'll work in pairs in 100m2 sections. Bags will be moved on with us as we go. Rubbish collected will be identified and recorded.
14:30 We should be at the Narrows (or somewhere near) to load up and catch ferry back.
15:00 Disembark Orford Quay and offload rubbish to (hopefully) waiting rubbish collection truck.
15:30 Time to get sandwich etc from the Tea Rooms.
17:00 Gather for ferry to return to the Narrows.
17:30 Ferry leaves for Narrows.
18:00 Disembark at Narrows, hump gear over. Soleman to designate pairs for comp.
19:00 Commence comp.
Sunday 16th September:
07:00 Stop fishing, submit tallies, pack up.
08:00 Ferry back to Orford Quay.
08:30 Disembark Orford Quay and offload gear.
09:00 Short presentation to winning pair.
Ferry will be free for the clean up session and will cost £8 for the return for the fishing. Soleman will, I believe, be looking for a £5 contribution to the pot but this is, as I understand it, optional. There may be a separate small pot for best/biggest fish. Soleman will, I'm sure, correct any details where necessary.
This is the first of many events as we have adopted this stretch of beach and will be doing this match/clean four times a year. The point is to demonstrate that we are responsible anglers and to hopefully create a clean beach where people will be less tempted to leave their rubbish in future.
Soleman and myself would like to encourage as many of you as can make the clean, the match or both to come along, meet new people and have a good laugh while doing something of benefit to the environment. All cleaning kit will be supplied by Suffolk County Council.
Sheddy is doing what he can to get some publicity for the event too.
If you are a relative novice and think, "well, thats not for me, I'll get shown up" DON'T WORRY. All of the guys I have met on this site are decent blokes and they will help you as much as they can. As a venue, there's probably nowhere with possible decent fish in such close range (40 yards).

Myself and my son can make the beach clean up on the saturday morning but unfortunatly we wont be able to fish the match as we have something else booked up, hope this is ok as we want to do our bit to help with the rubbish pick up.
