meet comp Canvey Nov 11th cod hunt

After a few pms with SJP we were thinking of a codling match at Canvey on Nov 10th to 11th meeting at 8pm and start fishing at 9pm till 03.00. High tide 00.47 5.6 metres.
I have incorperated the NFSA size limits for codling, whiting, pout, flounder dabs and doggies, which should be the mainstay of the fish. So fishing any undersize fish of the NFSA limits will not count.
There will be pools for biggest fish, and biggest bag with is not compulsory to enter.
    2010 species
dab, whiting, rockling, dragon fish, flounder, bass, eel, doggie, pollock, ballan wrasse, cuckoo wrasse

Count me in, and I might be able to get OCB over as well. What venue are you thinking of?

J it would be better just held around the southfalls part mate as scars is abit away from southfalls so we dont want everyone to widespread

I would include scars, but make the meeting with plenty of time to get to the spots. THe biggest problem with Canvey is it is very peggy. Southfalls, you wont be winning if you dont get to cast onto the slipper limpets, Scars you will only be in with a chance from the last gate at the holiday camp down to the drop. The point, no chance!! Actually, the point is very even in its lack of quality fishing! Othwewise, maybe look at a beach mark. I heard Deal fishes well...........
But Clacton, Jaywick, St Osyths, these are fairly even marks, unless we have super casters amongst us, in which case take out Clacton. Another very even area that can take reasonable numbers of anglers, can can produce even at short distance and should be showing a few cod in November is South Fambridge!

You will be sure of plenty of whiting at fambridge on a night tide but the parking could be a bit difficult with to many cars.
unfortunatly I will be working in Paris that week and the following so will be unable to attend just my luck as the winter fishing starts to improve
    with the winter species.

The idea for Canvey is that some of us Essex lads have had to travel miles for these meets, Dungie, Widewater, Felixstowe, Brighton and Deal are all around 2 hours away. As Canvey is the only real chance of catching a codling we though way not. Also having a small area for the match e.g behind Thorney Bay can keep the match more friendly.
